At present, there are two main methods of air tightness testing: one is testing with water, and the other is testing with compressed air.

The method of water testing is: block the sealing port of the product, place the product directly in the water, inject gas from the inflation hole of the product, and observe whether bubbles emerge from the product. If bubbles emerge, it means the product is leaking. The more bubbles, the larger the bubbles, the greater the leakage.

This method of testing product sealing with water is relatively intuitive, and the leakage point of the product can be observed.The disadvantage of this detection method is that the tested products need to be dried, and it takes a long time to test a single product from testing to drying; some electronic products will be damaged by water, so that the product not only leaks but also the internal electronic components are damaged by water, making repair more difficult.Therefore, many companies no longer use this method when conducting air tightness testing on large quantities of products.
