First, let’s briefly introduce the structure of the smart watch, as well as the 5ATM waterproof and 8ATM waterproof levels of the smart watch.The waterproofing of watches depends on the waterproof rubber rings on the watch mirror, back cover, handle, etc. to meet the corresponding standards. All waterproof watches are stamped on the bottom cover.“WATERRESISTANT or“WATERPROOF” in English.Watches without a waterproof mark are only dustproof and should be kept away from water.
5ATM waterproofing: It requires that the waterproofing of the component must meet the atmospheric pressure waterproofing level of 5ATM. It does not mean that it can dive 50 meters under the sea without water entering.
The 5ATM waterproof watch can be used for swimming in shallow water areas and general hand washing.8ATM can be suitable for swimming and underwater work.
If the customer wants to test 5ATM, its waterproof level is equivalent to IP68.When testing the waterproof performance of watches, manufacturers generally choose the air tightness testing method and use compressed air to test the waterproof performance of watches.If tested with water, watch movements that do not reach the waterproof level will be easily damaged by water and scrapped.

The waterproof level that Hirays received from the customer this time for testing is 5ATM, and the customer requested a pressure of 500KPA for testing.Judging from the appearance of the customer's product, the appearance of the watch is artificial sapphire. From the material evaluation, the product should be able to withstand the pressure of 500KPA.If the product is a plastic product or an ordinary glass product, the product cannot withstand too much pressure, and setting too much pressure will cause damage to the product.According to the customer's testing requirements, the parameter values we set for the customer are the air intake time of 5S, the voltage stabilization time of 5S, and the test time of 5S. The total time to complete the test is 15S.
Since the product is relatively small and does not have any inflation holes, we need to use indirect testing through the mold to test.When customizing a test plan for a customer, it is necessary to make a completely sealed mold for the customer based on the customer's product hot spots and appearance. Whether the sealing degree of the mold is sufficient directly affects the test results. This step is very important.
After the fixture and mold are completed, the tooling can be connected to our air tightness detector through the air pipe.After setting up the test data, you can start testing the product.If the product is defective, the air tightness test will automatically alarm to remind the tester.
