Today I will share how to perform waterproof testing on AR glasses.
AR glasses belong to a small category of smart wearable products. They generally consist of three parts: an optical module, a main body, and an outer frame.
Its display technology generally has three routes, which are divided into prism scheme, free-form surface scheme and optical waveguide scheme.

The representative work of the prism solution is Google's google glass. The prism solution is relatively simple compared to the other two solutions. The representative product of the free-form surface solution is Epson's BT300.The representative work of optical waveguide solutions is Microsoft’s HoloLens.
The main body of AR glasses includes sensors, microphones, speakers, batteries, and other electronic components. The outer frame can be matched with ordinary frames, helmets, and external accessories.
In the entire manufacturing process of AR glasses, only the main part needs to be tested for waterproof performance, because once water enters the main part, it may burn the electronic components and cause product damage, or even cause casualties.
The main body waterproof detection method depends on the state after assembly. There are two detection methods, one is for semi-finished products and the other is for finished products.

In both states, Hirays Technology HC can be used High-precision differential pressure detector + tooling + mold for testing. After the test is completed, a water test will be conducted. Combining the instrument test data and the water test results, the detector's judgment parameters can be corrected to establish the boundaries of qualified products.

AR glasses generally adopt two waterproof testing standards: IPX7 and IPX8.The test pressure is 10-30KPA.The semi-finished product testing process is divided into four steps: air intake, voltage stabilization, testing, and deflation.

The finished product testing process is divided into six steps: pre-inflation, partial pressure, air intake, pressure stabilization, testing, and deflation.

The above is the waterproof testing solution for AR glasses, thank you for reading.
