How is the sealing test performed on the walkie-talkie?Only after the sealing test of the walkie-talkie is carried out can the waterproof ability of the sealing box of the walkie-talkie be guaranteed, and the safe operation and service life of the walkie-talkie can be ensured.
Internationally, the IEC529 standard has been formulated.In order to adapt to this, the Japanese Industrial Standards divide the waterproof protection of electronic instruments (also applicable to walkie-talkies and radio equipment) into 10 levels, namely IPX1, IPX2…… means.

The sealing test IP level system provides a method to classify products based on the dustproof, waterproof and anti-collision degree of electrical equipment (including wireless walkie-talkies, radio equipment, etc.) and packaging. This system has been recognized by most European countries and was announced in the IEC529 (BSEN60529:1992) outer packaging protection level (IPcode).The protection level is usually expressed by IP followed by two numbers. The numbers are used to clarify the level of protection.However, most people still do not know or understand the waterproof level of the walkie-talkie’s sealing test. Now I will briefly describe the waterproof level of the walkie-talkie’s sealing test:

The first number indicates the device's resistance to particulate matter, or the extent to which people are protected from hazards in the tightness testing environment.The second number indicates how waterproof the device is.

1. Description of solids

0: Indicates no protection

1: The watch can withstand the entry of solid objects exceeding 50 mm, for example, accidental touch by hands

2: Indicates that it can resist the entry of solid objects with a diameter exceeding 12 mm and a length not exceeding 80 mm, such as fingers.

3: Indicates that it can resist the entry of solid objects exceeding 2.5 mm, such as tools or wires

4: Indicates that it can resist the entry of solid materials exceeding 1.0 mm, such as small metal wires

5: Indicates dust protection, limited entry (no harmful accumulation)

6: Indicates that dust is difficult to enter and completely dust-proof

2. Description of liquid

0: Indicates no protection

1: Indicates it can withstand vertical falling water points.

2: Indicates it can withstand 15° direct spray of water at a vertical angle

3: Indicates it can withstand 60° direct spray of water at a vertical angle

4: Indicates it can withstand water spray from any direction - limited access is allowed

5: Indicates that it can withstand low-pressure water jets from all directions---limited access allowed

6: Indicates it can withstand powerful water jets and allows limited entry

7: Indicates that it is allowed to be briefly put into water between 15 cm and 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes.

8: Indicates it can withstand long-term immersion under pressure

The waterproof level of the walkie-talkie sealing test also reflects the moisture-proof and dust-proof capabilities of the walkie-talkie. Intercom sealing test protection level type meaning:

0 no protection

1. Anti-drip type I: vertically falling water droplets have no harmful effects

2. Anti-drip type II: 15° to the vertical direction° Water droplets falling within the range have no effect

3. Rainproof type: 60° to the vertical direction° Rainfall within the range has no impact

4. The splash-proof type is not affected by water splashing from any direction.

5. Anti-spray type: Directly exposed to water spray from any direction without harmful effects

6. Water-resistant type: Even if water is directly sprayed from any direction, it will not enter the interior.

7. Anti-immersion type: Even if it is immersed in water under specified conditions, it will not enter the interior.

8. Water type: It can still be used even if it is immersed in water under a certain pressure for a long time.

The international industrial standard waterproofing registration IP level stipulates dust protection.

Walkie-talkie sealing test waterproof level (the second X indicates)

0: no protection

1: Water droplets dripping into the casing have no effect

2: When the casing is tilted to 15 degrees, water droplets dripping into the casing will have no effect.

3: Water or rain will have no effect on the housing from a 60-degree corner

4: Liquid splashed onto the case from any direction will have no harmful effects.

5: Rinse with water without any harm

6: Can be used in cabin environment

7: Can withstand water immersion in a short period of time (1m)

8: Immersed in water for a long time under a certain pressure

For example: A scale or display instrument is marked IP65, which means that the product can completely prevent dust from entering and can be washed with water without any harm.

Provisions on waterproofing experiments in IPXX levels:

(1)IPX 1

Method name: Vertical dripping test Test equipment: dripping test device Sample placement: Place the sample on a rotating sample table at 1r/min according to its normal working position. The distance from the top of the sample to the dripping port is not greater than 200mm. Test conditions: The dripping amount is 10. 5 mm/min duration: 10 min.

(2)IPX 2

Method name: Tilt 15° drip test test equipment: drip test device Sample placement: Make one surface of the sample 15 degrees from the vertical line° corner, the distance from the top of the sample to the dripping port shall not be greater than 200mm. After each test on one surface, change to another surface for a total of four times.Test conditions: dripping volume 30.5 mm/min duration: 4× 2.5 min (total 10 min).

(3)IPX 3

Method name: Water spray test Test method:

a. Oscillating tube type water spray test test equipment: Oscillating tube type water splashing test device Sample placement: Select a pendulum tube with an appropriate radius so that the height of the sample table is at the diameter of the pendulum tube. Place the sample on the sample table so that the distance from the top to the sample water spout is no more than 200mm, and the sample table does not rotate.Test conditions: The water flow rate is calculated based on the number of water spray holes in the swing pipe. Each hole is 0.07 L/min. When water is sprayed, the water flow rate is 60 on both sides of the midpoint of the swing pipe.° The water spray hole in the arc section sprays water towards the sample.The tested sample is placed in the center of the semicircle of the pendulum tube.The swing tube swings 60 degrees on both sides of the vertical line°, 120 in total°.Each swing ( 2×120°) About 4s test time: continuous water spraying for 10 minutes.

b. Sprinkler type water test test equipment: Hand-held water splash test device Sample placement: Make the parallel distance from the top of the test to the hand-held sprinkler nozzle between 300mm and 500mm. Test conditions: A baffle with a balance weight should be installed during the test, and the water flow rate is 10 L/min. Test time: Calculated based on the surface area of ​​the shell of the sample being tested, 1 min per square meter (excluding the installation area), at least 5 min.

(4)IPX 4

Method name: Splash test Test method:

a. Oscillating tube type splash test test equipment and sample placement: are the same as the above-mentioned IPX 3, paragraph a; test conditions: except for the following conditions, are the same as the above-mentioned IPX 3, paragraph a; the water spray area is 90 on both sides of the midpoint of the oscillating tube° The water spray from the water spray hole in the arc section is sprayed towards the sample.The tested sample is placed in the center of the semicircle of the pendulum tube.The swing tube swings 180 degrees on both sides of the vertical line°, about 360 in total°.Each swing ( 2×360°) About 12s test time: the same as the above IPX 3 paragraph a (i.e. 10 minutes).

b. Nozzle splash water test test equipment and sample placement: are the same as the above-mentioned IPX 3, paragraph b; test conditions: remove the baffle with a balance weight installed on the equipment, and the rest are the same as the above-mentioned IPX 3, paragraph b; test time: are the same as the above-mentioned IPX 3, paragraph b, that is, calculated based on the surface area of ​​the shell of the sample being tested, 1 minute per square meter (excluding the installation area) and at least 5 minutes.

(5)IPX 5

Method name: Water spray test Test equipment: The inner diameter of the water spray port of the nozzle is 6.3mm. Test conditions: Make the distance between the test sample and the water spray port 2.5m~3m, and the water flow rate is 12.5 L/min (750L/h). Test time: Calculated based on the surface area of ​​the shell of the sample being tested, 1 min per square meter (excluding installation area) and at least 3 min.

(6)IPX 6

Method name: Strong water spray test; Test equipment: The inner diameter of the water spray port of the nozzle is 12.5 mm. Test conditions: Make the distance between the test sample and the water spray port 2.5m~3m, and the water flow rate is 100 L/min (6000 L/h). Test time: Calculated based on the surface area of ​​the tested sample shell, 1 min per square meter (excluding installation area) and at least 3 min.

(7)IPX 7

Method name: Short-time immersion test Test equipment and test conditions: Immersion box.The size should be such that after the sample is placed in the immersion box, the distance from the bottom of the sample to the water surface is at least 1m.The distance from the top of the sample to the water surface is at least 0.15m. Test time: 30 minutes.

(8)IPX 8

Method name: Continuous diving test; test equipment, test conditions and test time: agreed between the supply and demand (buyer and seller) parties, the severity should be higher than IPX 7.
