The controller (also known as the inverter) is the brains of an e-bike’s maneuvering system.It is an electronic engine management unit.It receives information (control signal) from the pedal sensor or handle throttle and adjusts the engine power based on the received signal.

It rains heavily in summer and autumn, and electric bicycles are prone to water. Electronic products can easily damage circuits and endanger safety when exposed to water. Therefore, it is necessary to perform sealing testing procedures for bicycle controllers.


What we want to share today is a case about sealing testing of automatic vehicle controllers.

Testing method: Use direct testing method, design the mold according to the shape of the controller, and make tooling according to customer needs.

Testing equipment: Hairis HP pioneering series air tightness tester

After the mold and tooling are in place, place the controller on the mold, select the set program, press the start button, the mold blocks the controller, the instrument enters the test program, and the instrument performs actions such as air extraction, voltage stabilization, and testing.The system automatically determines the test results as OK or NG based on the set parameters.

Program parameters: intake pressure 30Kpa, intake time 5s, pressure stabilization 8s, test time 5s, deflation time 2s.If the leakage value does not exceed 60pa, it means that the air tightness test of the controller has passed, and the test result will also show OK.
